Ciccone Youth - The Whitey Album
The tail end of 1988 saw the belated UK release of Ciccone Youth’s only full-length album ‘The Whitey Album’, which included the previously released 'Into The Groovey' tracks from 1986.
The title was a reference to their intention to cover every song from The Beatles' White Album, but in the event they only recorded three cover songs by other artists: "Addicted to Love" by Robert Palmer (recorded in a karaoke booth) along with "Burnin' Up" and "Into the Groove" by Madonna. The album was not a commercial success in the UK only just scraping into the album charts in February 1989.
The most interesting item is a sampler CD released with highlights from the album.
