Body Of Evidence
Promotional Items
This section contains promotional items only - for the full narrative see the main entry within the VIDEOS tab
As already pointed out within the main narrative, technically 'Body of Evidence' should not be included on this website being a 1993 release but as it was filmed and produced in 1992, and was also the concluding segment of the 'Erotica' project, it has been included. It's 1992 provenance is demonstrated by the US promotional press kit and photos which are all helpfully dated 1992.
As always, the centrepiece is the US press pack. Being a major motion picture release it comes housed in a customised full colour, glossy folder with a sturdy 32 page production booklet and a set of 14 sequentially numbered promotional photos. Given the huge publicity machine surrounding Madonna at this time, it is not surprising that this particular press pack is relatively easy to find. Harder to find is a set that contains the full complement of photos as most only contain a handful. Even harder to find is the original cover letter from MGM dated 21 December 1992.
For the collector of variations, a selection of the main photos were also issued with a photographer credit rather than a sequential number. Three of these are shown below.
In the UK, 'Body of Evidence' was released by Guild Film Distribution Ltd and they also produced a set of undated sequentially numbered promotional photos. It would be appear they were issued as a set of six - five of these (numbered BE-2 to BE-6) are shown below along with a small set of lobby cards
